So, the economy sucks. I keep getting rejected from prospective employers, and I have an expensive art school education looming on the horizon. I’ve been considering doing this for a while, but now I’m actually going to do it – commissions!



Okay, now to business. *serious face*

DIGITAL ART:
All digital commissions will be sent as a high quality image file to the recipients email. Dimensions will be 8" x 10" for easy printing!

Super Special Six Dollar Deal!
This is a special concept I came up with, because I know commissions can be expensive, and I’m still a burgeoning artist. The idea is that for $6, I will attempt to draw anything you want – that’s right, anything – in thirty minutes. Of course, since time is limited, its quality will be determined by how detailed you want the drawing to be or how familiar I am with the subject (for example, I can draw Robin without reference, but Slade is a little trickier because of his armor). But if you guys are at all familiar with my ustream sessions, you’ll know that often times, some truly amazing (albeit sketchy) work can result! This special will only be around for a limited time.

COMMISSION GUIDELINES

I only accept paypal. Payment must be received before I begin work on a piece.

I will draw pretty much anything. Yes, anything! Just note that there are some things I’m better at (portraits, certain fandoms, etc) than others (animals, buildings, burly men, etc). However, I'm always up for a challenge and because this is for someone else, not for my own amusement, I will treat my job seriously and put all of my effort into your picture.

That being said, I reserve the right to turn down commission requests, for whatever reason. (I’ll usually explain why, though).

I reserve the right to post finished commissions to my gallery or website. This doesn’t necessarily mean I will. If you don’t want me to post for whatever reason (i.e. the picture is of a loved one who may not like people staring at her pretty face on my gallery), you may request I not post, but I would like to be able to promote my work.

You may reproduce and use any commissions as you see fit as long as you give me credit. Do not claim it as your own work, do not blur out my signature or watermark, and do not sell reproductions to others.

Give me a good week or two to complete commissions – maybe even longer if it’s a more complicated piece. Sometimes work and other responsibilities get in the way. If you feel like it’s taking FOREVER, don’t hesitate to drop me a note and ask what’s up. If you do need it done in a very specific amount of time (i.e. a birthday is coming up, etc), ask if it’s possible for me to complete a work by a certain deadline and I’ll probably be able to work it in.

If you commission a full digital painting or colored traditional piece, you’ll receive a picture of the initial sketch. I will do minor alterations if you don’t approve, but I cannot completely overhaul a piece unless I *really* messed it up. (i.e. you asked for Starfire, and I drew Batman. XD).

I’m totally willing and eager to stream commission making live on my ustream channel! Just let me know and we can set up a time! My only request is that you don't use that as an opportunity to full on micromanage my artistic process. x__x cuz that's not fun.

Don’t hesitate to ask questions, either in the comments below or through a note! This is my first time doing this, so if there is something you’re unsure about, please ask! I promise I don’t bite. (Unless you’re made of ice cream, in which case, how are you still alive?)

How to commission:
Either send me a note here on deviantart, or an email to melimsah.art@gmail.com, with the obvious subject headline “COMMISSION” (so it doesn’t end up in the trash). Include a detailed explanation of the type of commission you want and any specific details about the piece. Be as detailed as possible! Say if you want a specific style, a specific pose, a specific mood, a specific setting, whatever! If it’s an original character, please describe them thoroughly! If it’s a real life person, please send me photo references! The more you help me understand what you want, the better the outcome! After receiving all of this information, I’ll confirm that you understand the price of the commission and have read my guidelines. If you agree, I’ll ask for your paypal email and send along a payment request. Once payment has gone through, I’ll be able to start your piece!
