OHSHC - Please Come Back

Oh yes, it's the Hitachiin brothers again. :3

I love these guys, but not for the same reason other people have. xD Search "Hikaru and Kaoru" in deviantArt's search engine, and you'd better have your adult filter on. That's why most people love the twins - they're so slash-tastic.

But that's not why I love them. I mean, I love slash as much as the next otaku, but with the Hitachiins... it's the fact that they use slash as a cloak, of sorts. They put on this whole display for the girls to make them squeal (I know they make ME squeal when they fall into their Brotherly Love routines), but as more episodes pass, you understand that's not really who they are. You get to see them by themselves, get to see how they act when it's just the two of them... and you see that they are more like scared little children, grasping each other's hand for comfort and support as they face a world they don't understand and in which no one could understand them.

In this picture, the twins (Kaoru is on the left, Hikaru is on the right) are heading in different directions. Maybe it's just for an hour or two, maybe it's for a few weeks - it doesn't matter. They're reluctant to let go, because no matter what, they're terrified that if the other one is out of sight, something could happen and he'll never come back. As lonely and afraid as the twins are, even in the company of Haruhi or the Host Club, it has to be a hard idea to deal with....

...so... yeah. That's why I love the twins... the psychology surrounding them totally makes me drool. XD

More technically artistic babble mumbo-jumbo: The usual photoshop. I decided to do something more painterly this time round. I decided to focus alot more on anatomy, the interaction between two subjects, color theory and composition. I really suck with abstract decorative backgrounds, so I hope this one at least isn't a total eyesore.... That's something I really need to figure out. Abstract decorative backgrounds... Someday, guys. Someday.
