Update on things

I know, I know *sweep* I haven't been very active on here, like, at all. Ustream link on my profile is from almost a year ago, last journal entry was in November. *sweep* Last art post was in, what, August? Oy vey.... *sweep sweep* AUGH! VIRTUAL SPIDER!! GETITOFF!!!

ahem, anyways. Thought I'd just put up an update on the goings-ons in my life.

It's Winter Quarter here at SCAD. I'm taking my pre-intro Animation course, Action Analysis, which is kind of a "figure drawing for animators" class. It's amazing. My teacher, Troy Gustafson, used to work at Disney as an effects animator. He's pretty awesome but also a hardass. ("But I'm a teddy bear compared to what you'll be dealing with out there!"). I, apparently, do pretty well in his class. He, erm, called me his "star pupil." *blushy face* Other than that, I'm doing color theory (which is fun!), and then.... uuuuugh.... "Media Literacy Theory," which is the most pain-in-the-ass what's-the-point class I've ever taken. Philosophy and junk and all this rambling reading that all says the same thing - the media is bad, capitalism is bad, blah blah blah. Tell me something I don't know.

I haven't been doing much personal art. I'm being spoiled by the cintiq labs here at SCAD, and so I look at my tablet and I'm like "uuuuurgh....." Not like I have much time anyways for personal art. It's midterms right now (obviously I'm procrastinating studying), so this whole last week has been like *flails and runs around in circles*. I've been going to professional development workshops and a leadership conference and applied for all kinds of leadership positions (oh man I hope they pick me to be an ambassador....).

Next quarter will be more interesting. I'm planning on taking 2D Animation, Digital Light and Forms in Space (modeling and stuff in Maya for 3D), and my first Illustration class for my minor. I'm pretty stoked, but oh my god it will kill me. All of this will kill me. Death by art school.

Apart from art, I've been doing pretty good. Trying to eat better. Been cooking, and I haven't had a diet coke in almost 4 weeks (OH MY GOD I KNOW RIGHT?!). There was also an exercise regimine involved that failed after one go, because other things kept taking up my time. x____x Or I keep injuring my foot just by walking around downtown in flats. I dunno if it's the uneven sidewalks or what, but my right foot keeps totally failing on me. I should go see a podiatrist or something.... except they're probably just gonna tell me to wear sneakers. ;____; i dun wanna wear sneakers.... they're ugly fugly! (only allowed when I'm working out. yup yup. Otherwise I feel like an old fat soccer mom. Haaaaaaaate it).

....still not caught up with Dr. Who. Still not caught up with YJ. I'm so behind on everything! GAAAAAAAH! *headdesk*

....someday I'll update dA, and ff.net. That is, if The Man doesn't shut them down first.... *sigh*
